First Aid For Young People (16-18)
Accredited Emergency First Aid at Work course for students aged 16+, boosting skills and CVs.
Service Description
This FREE, accredited course provides students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations. Participants will learn the role and responsibilities of a first aider and how to assess an incident safely. The course covers how to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing and one who is not breathing normally, including the use of an external defibrillator (AED). Students will also learn how to recognise and assist a choking casualty, manage severe external bleeding, treat a casualty in shock, and deal with minor injuries. Please ensure that your child brings a valid proof of identification to the course. This is essential as we need to confirm their date of birth to issue the accredited certificate through Highfields. If your child is unable to provide ID, please be aware that the certificate issued will be from Ensure only, which is not the accredited qualification. This project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Cancellation Policy
Booking, Cancellation & Waitlist Policy Bookings are required in advance and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All places are limited. As sessions are free and accredited, we kindly ask attendees to notify us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. This allows us to offer the place to someone on the waitlist. Cancellations should be made at least 48 hours in advance where possible. Failure to attend without notice may affect eligibility for future bookings. If a session is fully booked, participants may join the waitlist. Places will be offered automatically if spaces become available.
