Inspiring Young People with Life-Saving First Aid Skills
On 10th July, as part of our Young LifeSavers Project, Smiles to Come CIC was delighted to partner with Inspiring Your Future (IYF) to deliver a First Aid Awareness session for the young people taking part in their programme.
Inspiring Your Future provides Alternative Provision for children and young people who may experience challenges within mainstream education, including low confidence, behavioural difficulties, communication barriers, persistent absence, and social, emotional, or mental health needs. Through a safe and supportive environment, IYF helps young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop the skills they need to succeed.
The First Aid Awareness session gave participants the opportunity to learn essential life-saving skills, increase their confidence in responding to emergencies, and understand how simple actions can make a real difference while waiting for professional medical help. We believe that every young person should have access to these vital skills, empowering them to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.
The session was expertly delivered by Sophie from Ensure Safety & Training, whose enthusiasm, professionalism, and ability to engage young people created an enjoyable and interactive learning experience. We are incredibly grateful for her continued support and commitment to helping young people develop confidence through first aid education.
This session was made possible thanks to the generous funding provided by Cheshire Community Foundation. Their support enables us to continue delivering meaningful projects that equip children and young people with practical skills, build resilience, and create safer communities.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Inspiring Your Future for inviting us to be part of their programme and for the incredible work they do in supporting young people every day. We are proud to work alongside organisations that share our vision of giving every young person the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
At Smiles to Come CIC, we believe that learning first aid is more than just acquiring a skill—it is about building confidence, encouraging responsibility, and empowering young people to help others when it matters most.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with Inspiring Your Future and delivering more life-saving opportunities to young people across our community.

Children First – Building a Safe Future
On 17th, 18th and 20th February 2026, we were proud to deliver multiple First Aid sessions as part of our Children First – Building a Safe Future project, generously funded by Cheshire Community Foundation and delivered in partnership with Ensure Safety & Training.
Across the three days, we welcomed children from different age groups, with each session carefully designed to suit the specific age and understanding of participants. This ensured that learning was accessible, engaging, and appropriate for every child involved.
In a supportive and interactive environment, children were introduced to essential life-saving skills, including how to recognise an emergency, how to call for help, basic CPR techniques, and the use of a defibrillator. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants were able to build confidence while learning how to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm, focus, and confidence grow throughout each session. The children showed great maturity and willingness to take part, supporting one another and embracing the responsibility of learning how to help others.
At Smiles to Come CIC, we believe that equipping children with safety knowledge from an early age helps build stronger, more resilient communities. We are incredibly grateful to Cheshire Community Foundation for making this project possible and proud of every young person who took part in helping to build a safer future.
