First Aid for 6–8 Year Olds – A Fun and Inspiring Learning Experience

On 27th May, we were delighted to host another engaging First Aid session for children aged 6–8, delivered by Smiles to Come CIC in partnership with Ensure Safety & Training and made possible thanks to the generous support of The National Lottery Community Fund.

The afternoon was filled with excitement, curiosity, and lots of hands-on learning as the children explored important, age-appropriate first aid skills in a fun and supportive environment. Throughout the session, they showed fantastic enthusiasm, confidence, and a genuine eagerness to learn how to help others.

A very special highlight of the day was an visit from Crewe Police. The children were absolutely thrilled to meet the officers, explore the police car up close, try on police hats, and ask plenty of thoughtful questions about police work and keeping the community safe. It was a truly memorable experience that brought even more excitement and smiles to the session.

Through interactive activities and practical demonstrations, the children began building a strong foundation in understanding how to respond in simple emergency situations. The session was designed to encourage confidence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility in a way that was both engaging and age-appropriate.

At Smiles to Come CIC, we believe that learning life-saving skills from an early age helps children grow in confidence and awareness while empowering them to make a positive difference. We are incredibly proud of every child who took part and embraced the session with such positivity and enthusiasm.

We extend our sincere thanks to Crewe Police for taking the time to join us and make the session so special, and to The National Lottery Community Fund for enabling us to continue delivering these valuable community sessions, and to Ensure Safety & Training for delivering such engaging, high-quality and impactful First Aid sessions.

We look forward to welcoming more young learners in the future and continuing to build confidence, resilience, and life-saving awareness in our community.

First Aid for Children Aged 6–8 – May Half Term 2026

What a fantastic start to the day at our 9am First Aid session for children aged 6–8!

We loved seeing so many young children getting involved, building confidence, and learning important life-saving skills in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

The session was carefully adapted for the age group, helping children learn through interactive activities, practical demonstrations, and hands-on participation.

Throughout the session, the children explored basic first aid skills, learned how to respond in an emergency, and gained a better understanding of how to help others while staying safe themselves. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to take part.

A huge thank you goes to all the children who attended — you were brilliant throughout the session and should all be very proud of yourselves.

These sessions were made possible thanks to the amazing support of The National Lottery Community Fund, helping us provide valuable opportunities and life skills to children and young people within our community.

We would also like to thank Ensure Safety & Training for delivering such engaging and high-quality sessions.

Well done to all of our amazing little first aiders!

“I’d just like to thank you for the First Aid course that you arranged at Ensure on Monday. My stepdaughter, Nicola, really enjoyed it and came back full of stories about what she had learned.
